For our 2022 Classics campaign we enlisted the help of Anderson .Paak and a group of young creatives. The campaign, "Classic Since Forever" celebrates the timeless nature of the five Vans "icon" silhouettes.

Black Rainbows are the marks skateboards leave on walls after a wallride. To see the marks as rainbows is to see through the eyes of a skateboarder, where everyday objects are seen in a new light, for a new purpose.

To kick off a year celebrating the Vans Era, the first shoe for skateboarding designed by skateboarders we wanted to remind people that skateboarders see the world differently. And if it wasn't for one group of skateboarders in particular (Venice's Z-boys), modern skateboarding would be very different. And we wouldn't have the Vans Era.

The event took place in Venice, the birthplace of modern skateboarding and home to Tony Alva, designer of the Era. The event included a reproduction of a 1970s teenage surfer's bedroom, part of the infamous "dog bowl" -- a backyard pool nearby where Tony Alva executed the first air. Venice legends Suicidal Tendencies and X performed.

With this launch, we wanted to reassure and remind people that you don't have to sacrifice style for comfort.

At the beginning of the national COVID lockdown, we asked our family to get creative with something they all had at home.

A Vans shoebox.

People must have really been looking for something to do because we got an overwhelming response. The standouts were brought together for display in stores. And we even had other brands joining in.

Apple does not look back. 

But to mark the anniversary of 40 years of iconic and transformative products they might look back a little, maybe for 40 seconds.

The brand and its contributions sit powerfully in the minds of their fans. This purely typographic look back, titled “40 Years in 40 Seconds”, was intended to spark memories and images in the minds of those fans.

To launch a new platform for Target’s style department, some of the most iconic images from Vogue’s history were reimagined using only products from Target. 

With these reimagined iconic images, we created 21 pages in the September issue of Vogue.

Shazam made it possible for readers to go deeper and see the original images, behind the scenes GIFs, and shop the products.

For New York Fashion Week, we created an event allowing people to step into 3d versions of some of the iconic Vogue images.

Vans Checkerboard Day is a global initiative established to champion the power of creative expression around the world. Following a period of isolation, 2021's Checkerboard Day focused on the vital role creativity plays in helping individuals and communities address mental health and well-being. Vans will supported 10 charities from around the world whose shared purpose is to use programs focused on creativity as resources for coping with the stressors that impact mental health and well-being, by donating $1 million USD.

Vans wanted to give undiscovered and up-and-coming musicians the chance to share their talents with the world, so Musicians Wanted, a global battle of the bands was created.

Aspiring musicians competed for the chance to perform with an established artist. Judges picked a "Final Five" to perform in a digital battle for the Grand Prize. Content was be posted and shared on vans.com and our social platforms.

For almost ten years I co-owned a chocolate company with my wife. It was a celebration of the candy bar as a perfect pop object. 

We were fortunate to have been featured in many publications and blogs. This included Wallpaper, Nylon, Paper and the New York Post, as well as books published by Victionary and Gestalten. We were featured on the Martha Stewart Show, and were available in stores around the world.
